Halloween is a Saturday this year. Free Day of the Dead at Camden Market and King's Cross, a ghost play in Highgate Cemetery, and £3 rave tickets, all checked.
Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October this year, the last day of half term week, and Camden’s version of it is mostly Day of the Dead. Canopy Market at King’s Cross holds a three-day Día de Muertos from Friday 23 October, and Camden Market’s free festival at Hawley Wharf is on Sunday 1 November. In between there is a ghost play in Highgate Cemetery, a silent Nosferatu with a live organ, and two club nights on the night itself. Every date, time and price below was read from the organiser’s own page on 3 October 2026.
The quick answer

Day of the Dead, twice
Canopy Market, King’s Cross, Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October. King’s Cross’s autumn events page says MexiBrit’s Day of the Dead returns to the West Handyside Canopy, off Granary Square, “bigger than ever”: Friday 12pm to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6pm. There is Mexican street food, a bigger craft market of Mexican makers, a drinks bar run by Sagrado, live mariachi, Mexican dance and a Día de Muertos procession. A free community ofrenda invites you to leave photos, flowers or messages for people you have lost.
Camden Market, Sunday 1 November, 1pm to 7pm. Camden Market’s event page lists a free festival at Hawley Wharf, 1 Dockray Place, NW1 8QH, with mariachi bands, dance, Catrina parades, Mexican stalls and drop-in workshops including a chocolate session. The market points to an Eventbrite page for details; entry is free.
A warning if you search Camden Market’s own site: its events archive still carries Halloween pages from 2016, 2017 and 2022, written as if they were current. The Babylon “Out of This World” weekend and the Josiah Amari cupcake workshops are 2022. On 3 October the only Halloween-season event the market had published for 2026 was the Day of the Dead.
For children
- Halloween Face Painting, Saturday 31 October, 2pm to 4pm, Holborn Library, 32-38 Theobalds Road, WC1X 8PA. Free, for ages 5 to 12. The Bloomsbury Festival asks you to book, and takes walk-ins if there is space. It is the festival’s last day.
- Make Your Own Shadow Puppet, Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November, drop in 10am to 4pm, at the Postal Museum, 15-20 Phoenix Place, WC1X 0DA. Included in museum admission, first come, first served, and every child must be with an adult. The museum invites children to come dressed as a spooky fairy-tale character, “like the Wicked Witch or Big Bad Wolf”. Our half-term page has the ticket prices.
Just over the border on the Islington side of York Way, Global Generation’s New Story Garden runs a “spooky special” family day on Wednesday 28 October, 11am to 3pm: carpentry, clay and play, fancy dress encouraged, with a pay-what-you-can lunch. Children must come with an adult.
For adults
- Beyond the Veil, Tuesday 27 October, doors 7pm, show 7.30pm, Highgate Cemetery, Swain’s Lane, N6 6PJ. £15, including a glass of wine. For one night, actor Jonathan Goodwin performs a one-man adaptation of George Eliot’s gothic tale about a man who believes he has second sight. Highgate’s next event, a talk on the cemetery in horror film and television, is on 17 November.
- Nosferatu (1922) with live organ improvisation, Friday 30 October, 9pm to 10.30pm, Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2H 8EP. £15. Organist Aaron Hawthorne improvises a score on the church’s pipe organ, nicknamed “The Bloomsbury Beast” (Bloomsbury Festival).
- Caiiro x Da Capo x Enoo Napa: Halloween B3B, Saturday 31 October, from 6pm, Roundhouse Main Space, Chalk Farm Road, NW1 8EH. £42.50, 18+. Three South African house DJs playing back to back.
- Halloween Rave, Saturday 31 October, 11pm until late, Electric Ballroom, 184 Camden High Street, NW1 8QP. Tickets from £3, strictly 18+ with physical photo ID, fancy dress strongly encouraged. Run by Loop London.
What is not happening
- No Kenwood light trail. English Heritage told the Camden New Journal in May that “the Halloween and Neverland light trails will not be returning to Kenwood in 2026”. Kenwood’s own events listing has nothing for Halloween; the house and grounds are open and free, 10am to 4pm, from 26 October. More on our Kenwood winter page.
- No council event. Camden Council has not published a Halloween or half-term programme of its own, and its newsroom had nothing seasonal on 3 October.
- No pumpkin patch in the borough that we could find. Kentish Town City Farm’s autumn event is its Apple Day Fair on Sunday 11 October, for which its poster is asking for cake donations.
Primrose Hill on Halloween night
Primrose Hill’s summer rule is still in force on Halloween: The Royal Parks’ notice of 8 April 2026 closes it from 10pm to 6am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until Sunday 8 November, so it shuts at 10pm on Saturday 31 October. Last year The Royal Parks also closed it at 10pm every night from 31 October to 9 November, around the fireworks weekends. Nothing has been published for 2026 yet, and we will add it here if it is. Our Camden fireworks page covers bonfire night, including the free Coram’s Fields display on Thursday 5 November.
Getting there
Check our Camden roadworks and travel page before you set out: it tracks the council’s street works register and TfL’s road closures. If you are driving, our parking in Camden page covers pay-to-park bays and controlled hours across the borough’s parking zones.
